There are two ways to earn your motorcycle license in Georgia: 1) by successfully completing the Georgia Motorcycle Safety Program Course, you will earn a License Test Waiver, which will allow you to bypass the knowledge test and the on-cycle skills test at a DDS Customer Service Center; 2) by passing required motorcycle license tests, which include a special road signs test, a special road rules test and a riding test on a motorcycle. Knowledge test questions are based on information from the Georgia Motorcycle Operator's Manual. The written test consists of questions about road rules and safe driving practices. You must score 75% or higher to pass.
1. You should operate the engine cut-off switch and pull in the clutch when:
the motorcycle starts to wobble.
the throttle is stuck and you cannot free it.
you start to lose control in a curve.
2. You can use your feet to maintain balance by:
pointing your toes downward.
holding them away from the motorcycle.
keeping them on the footpegs.
3. To increase your chances of avoiding obstacles at night, you should:
ride in a staggered formation.
grab at the front brake.
reduce your speed.
4. When you carry a load, you should:
distribute the load evenly.
pile loads against a sissy bar.
keep it high.
5. If the front tire goes flat while riding:
apply the front brake firmly.
apply both brakes at the same time.
gradually apply the rear brake.
6. To ride safely on slippery surfaces, you should:
Ride in the center lane position.
Reduce your speed.
Twist the throttle back and forth.
7. If you take curves or turns too fast, you may end up:
crossing into another lane of traffic.
twisting the throttle.
shifting gears.
8. When passing another vehicle, you should:
ride through the blind spot as quickly as possible.
move as far left as possible.
make eye contact with the driver.
9. In slow tight turns, counterbalance the motorcycle by:
leaning in the opposite direction of the motorcycle.
leaning forward.
keeping your body straight.
10. You should adjust your mirrors:
after you have started riding.
after starting the motorcycle.
