Safely pulling double and triple trailers requires knowledge and skill. If you want to pull double or triple trailers, you must add the Doubles/Triples (T) endorsement to your Class A CDL. The Ohio doubles triples test consists of 20 questions. To pass, you must correctly answer at least 16 questions (80%). The OH CDL doubles triples test covers the following sections of the Ohio CDL Manual: Driving Safely, Air Brakes (if you plan to operate vehicles equipped with air brakes), Combination Vehicles, Doubles and Triples. 1. If you will be transporting hazardous materials that require placards, you must:
obtain a hazardous materials endorsement.
obtain a special transit permit.
transport the materials at night only.
2. When checking the lights before driving:
you should check them from inside the vehicle.
make sure the parking brake is not set.
you should turn off the engine.
3. If your vehicle is hydroplaning, you should:
speed up.
stay off the brake.
put the vehicle in reverse.

6. How should you apply the brakes when going down a steep downgrade?
Apply the brakes when you reach the bottom of the downgrade.
Apply the brakes whenever you reach your safe speed, until your speed has been reduced to 5 mph below your safe speed.
Apply the brakes as hard as you can without locking the wheels.
7. Rollovers happen when drivers:
turn too slowly.
