To add an endorsement to your license in Washington State, you must pass both a knowledge and a skills test. Knowledge test questions are based on the information from the Washington State Motorcycle Manual. They require that you know and understand driving laws, road rules and safe riding practices, as well as information specific to two-wheeled vehicles. The written motorcycle test consists of 25 questions, and you'll need at least 20 correct answers to pass.
1. When someone follows too closely, you should:
pull over and stop.
change lanes and let them pass.
sound your horn.
flash your brake lights.
2. When you swerve, always:
brake while swerving.
brake before or after swerving.
brake after swerving.
brake before swerving.
3. Because operation of a motorcycle is more tiring than the operation of a car, you should:
drink a lot of coffee.
take frequent breaks.
eat foods high in carbohydrate.
avoid drinking water.
4. While riding a motorcycle, you are considered legally intoxicated if:
you have a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08% or more.
