INDIANA MOTORCYCLE WRITTEN TEST

To earn your motorcycle license in Indiana, you must pass both a knowledge test and an on-cycle skill test. Knowledge test questions are based on information from the Indiana Motorcycle Manual. They require that you know and understand road rules and safe riding practices. The knowledge examination consists of 25 questions, and 21 correct answers are required to pass.
1. When you are being passed from behind, you should:
swerve as soon as you can.
ride on the shoulder of the road.
avoid moving into the portion of the lane farthest from the passing vehicle.
avoid riding in the center of the lane.
2. Surfaces that provide poor traction include:
exit lanes.
multi-lane roads.
roads in residential areas.
pavement after it starts to rain.
3. What is a benefit of riding in the center lane position?
Your space cushion is maximized.
It prevents others from sharing your lane.
It helps you maintain a constant speed.
It allows you to go faster.
4. Distances are harder to judge at night than in daylight. When you ride at night you should:
use your high beam whenever you are not following or meeting a car.
use another vehicle's tail lights to help judge the road ahead.
