Anyone who operates a motor vehicle on the public roads in Maryland is required to have a valid driver's license or learner's permit. Licensing requirements include a vision screening, a knowledge test, and a driving skills test. The Maryland MVA written test is designed to check the applicant’s knowledge of motor vehicle laws, road rules, road signs and safe driving practices. Everything you need to know is covered in the Maryland Driver's Manual. The MD DMV written consists of 25 questions, and you'll need at least 22 correct answers to pass (88%).
1. This road sign means:

Drivers may not turn right on red.
T-intersection ahead.
Drivers must turn left on red.
2. This sign means:
detour right
Detour to the right.
Do not enter.
The road to the right is for one-way traffic only.
3. If two vehicles reach an intersection at the same time:
The first vehicle to reach the intersection has the right-of-way.
The vehicle on the right yields to the vehicle on the left.
The vehicle on the left yields to the vehicle on the right.
4. In a heavy rain, tires can ride on a thin film of water, without touching the road. This is called:
Waterplaning.
Rainplaning.
Hydroplaning.
5. After passing a car, it is safe to return to your lane when:
The driver you passed slows down to let you return to your lane.
You are at least 50 feet ahead of the car you passed.
You can see both headlights of the car you just passed in your rearview mirror.
