The school bus endorsement applies to applicants who wish to drive a school bus in any Class A or B CDL. To add an S endorsement to your CLP/CDL, you must pass the Arkansas school bus test, and you must also pass skills tests in a school bus. The AR CDL bus test consists of 20 questions, and you'll need at least 16 correct answers to pass (80%). The knowledge test covers the following sections of the Arkansas CDL Manual: School Buses, Vehicle Inspection Test, Basic Control Skills Test and Road Test. After studying, take this AR CDL practice test to prepare for the actual bus test!
1. When driving at night, to avoid glare from oncoming vehicles you should:
look directly at lights of oncoming vehicles.

Here are the age requirements to obtain a driver's license in Arkansas:
  • Instruction permit ? you need to be at least 14 years old.
  • Learner’s license ? you need to be between 14 and 16 years old.
  • Intermediate license ? you need to be between 16 and 18 years old. You can obtain an unrestricted class D license before turning 18 if:
- You have a minimum of 6 months of driving experience.
- You are an emancipated individual aged 17 and older.
- You have graduated aged 16 and older.  
- You are married and aged 16 or older.            
- You are military personnel aged 16 and older.
  • Class D driver license? you need to be 18 or older.

If you are under 18, you need:
  • Original or certified copy of a birth certificate.
  • Parent Affidavit signed by your parent in front of a notary or the examiner.

If you are over 18, you need two primary documents (or one primary and one secondary) and you can complete the affidavit by yourself.

The DMV written test in Arkansas is offered in both English and Spanish. You can bring a dictionary with you, but an interpreter is not allowed. If you prefer an oral test, please contact the nearest DMV office to inquire about this option.

The Arkansas DMV written test consists of 25 questions about various aspects of road rules and safe driving practices. These questions are based on the official manual, so it's important to study it well to maximize your chances of passing the exam.
To pass the exam, you need a score of 80% or higher. You should get at least 20 questions right, and you're allowed to miss up to 5 questions out of the total 25. Stay focused and take the time to read the questions carefully.
Drivers between 14 and 16 years old:
  • Must be accompanied by a licensed driver aged at least 21.
  • Must wear seat belts.
  • Are prohibited to use a cell phone, except for emergencies.

These restrictions continue until the applicant turns 16 and completes six months of restricted driving.

Drivers aged 16 to 18 with an intermediate license:
  • Should not operate a vehicle with more than one unrelated minor passenger, unless accompanied by a licensed driver aged 21 or older, seated in the front.
  • Cannot operate between 11:00 pm and 4:00 am unless accompanied by a licensed driver aged 21 or older. Exceptions include driving to and from school activities, church activities, work, or in emergencies.

In Arkansas, an instruction permit is valid for a period of two years and cannot be renewed. Use this time to practice driving before the road test and consider enrolling in a driver training course to enhance your skills and abilities.
If you fail your DMV written test, you must wait 5 days to make another attempt. Before trying again, carefully study the rules of the road and memorize the road signs
