To earn your motorcycle license in Maine, you must pass both a knowledge test and an on-cycle skill test. The Knowledge test covers the information from the Maine Motorcycle Operator Manual, including road rules and safe riding practices. The test consists of 50 questions, and you'll need at least 40 correct answers to pass (80%).
1. If you encounter a large surface so slippery that you must coast:
sit as far back as possible.
consider letting your feet skim along the surface.
gradually increase your speed.
warn other drivers that you will make a sudden move.
2. When you park next to a curb, you should:
park at an angle with the front wheel touching the curb.
park on the road and keep a two-second space cushion around you.
park as close to the curb as possible.
park at an angle with the rear wheel touching the curb.
3. To ride safely on slippery surfaces, you should:
pull in the clutch.
