To earn your motorcycle license in North Carolina, you must pass a knowledge test and an on-cycle skills test. The knowledge test questions cover content in the North Carolina Motorcycle Handbook. They require that you know and understand road rules, driving laws and safe riding practices. The North Carolina motorcycle test consists of 25 questions. A score of at least 20 (80%) is required to pass.
1. To swerve properly, brake:
before or after swerving.
after swerving.
before swerving.
while swerving.
2. To turn your motorcycle, press on the handgrip in the direction of the turn and:
keep your body straight.
look straight ahead.
lean in the same direction.
pull in the clutch.
3. To deal with a sticky throttle on your motorcyle, you should first:
apply the rear brake.
apply the front brake.
twist the throttle back and forth several times.
operate the engine cut-off switch.
4. To stop as quickly and as safely as possible in a curve, try to:
lean as much as possible.
get the motorcycle as perpendicular to the road as possible.
grab the front brake.
increase your speed through the curve.
5. When you ride a motorcycle, you mainly use your arms for:
applying the brakes.
hand signals.
steering.
holding yourself up.
