What does this ‘DIP’ sign indicate?

Uneven pavement ahead.
There is a low place in the road ahead.
Road elevation ahead.
Downgrade ahead. Drivers should go slowly.
Explanation

This DIP warning sign alerts drivers that they are approaching a low area in the road that drops abruptly. It is always safest to slow down as you approach. Driving too fast over a dip can cause you to lose control of your vehicle. After heavy rain, dips may collect water - never drive through a flooded dip unless you are certain it is safe. Be prepared to stop and turn around if the dip is filled with water.
