What should you do if your rear wheels start to skid?
If the vehicle has ABS, pump the pedal carefully.
Turn the steering wheel in the direction the vehicle is trying to go.
Take your foot off the gas and shift to neutral.
Steer left if your rear wheels slide right.
Explanation
If you feel your rear wheels begin to skid on a slippery road, you must take your foot off the gas pedal, shift into neutral, and steer in the direction of the skid. If you try to brake hard or steer in the opposite direction, the skid may worsen, and so will your control over the vehicle. If your front wheels skid, you should take your foot off the gas and shift to neutral, but do not try to steer immediately.
