Explanation
If your car breaks down on the road, pull all the way off the road if possible, and stop in a safe area. If you cannot get completely off the road, stop where people have a clear view of you. Do not stop just over a hill or just around a curve. Turn on your emergency flashers. If your vehicle doesn’t have emergency flashers, use turn signals instead. If it is safe, lift the hood to signal an emergency. Give other drivers plenty of warning by placing emergency flares or triangles behind the vehicle. Be careful and stay off the roadway.
