Explanation
Yellow lane lines separate lanes of traffic moving in opposite directions. As a general rule, broken traffic lines can be crossed and solid lines cannot, except when making a turn. However, if the yellow line next to your side of the road is broken, it means that you may pass if it is safe to do so.
