Persons applying for a Florida driver’s license are required to take a vision, hearing, and knowledge test. The FL DMV written test consists of 45 road rules and 5 road signs questions. To pass the test, you must provide the correct answers to at least 40 of the 50 multiple-choice questions.
Thoroughly study the Florida Driver's Handbook before you take the test. After you successfully pass the official DMV practice permit test, you will be able to schedule an appointment for the driving test at your local DMV.
1. It is against the law to:
Use your directional signals to tell drivers behind you that they can pass.
Use hand signals.
Make three-point turns.
Use directional signals when changing lane.
2. Perception distance is:
How long it takes a driver to physically hit the brakes.
How far a vehicle travels, in ideal conditions, from the time the driver sees a hazard until his/her brain recognizes it.
How far a drunk person can travel before coming to a complete stop in response to a hazard ahead.
How far a driver will continue to travel, in ideal conditions; before he/she physically hits the brakes.
3. When a stop is required at an intersection with no stop line or crosswalk:

Drivers should stop at the point nearest the intersecting roadway where the driver has a view of approaching traffic on the intersecting roadway before actually entering the roadway.
Drivers are required to slow down to make sure crossing traffic is clear.
Drivers are not required to stop.
4. You must come to a full stop at a yield sign:
If traffic conditions require it.
Always.
Never.
Before you decrease speed and reach the intersection.
5. If you are driving on a slippery road in a car with anti-lock brakes, how do you make an emergency stop?
Remove steady pressure from the brake pedal.
Press down hard on the brake pedal, hold it down, and steer out of danger.
Pump the brakes to turn off the Anti-Locking Brake System.

6. When you see an emergency vehicle with flashing lights behind you, you must:
Drive to the right edge of the road and slow down.
